Answers To The DJ Whitney Springsteen Summer Song Challenge

As you recall, the Challenge ran for two weeks, ending yesterday...DJ Joe D listeners and blog readers were invited to name the 10 songs heard in a 40 second clip , in the order they are heard in the clip.

Many of you took on the Challenge and thank you all for participating.  Below are those 10 songs in the clip, in the order they were heard, along with the clip.  So in order...the 10 songs were:

A special shoutout goes to Anonymous of Germany who was one of the first people to participate in the Challenge and have all the songs in the right order.  He/She even got the songs before DJ Whitney gave out the titles on the July 24th DJ Joe D Show as a hint.

DJ Whitney Springsteen Summer Song Challenge

This is the spot you can enter your answers for the big DJ Whitney Springsteen Summer Song Challenge and listen to the 40-second clip as many times as you like

Here's how the challenge works:  DJ Whitney put together a 40 second clip that features 10 well known Bruce Springsteen songs.  All you have to do is identify each of the 10 songs in the clip, in the order they were played and you will have successfully achieved the DJ Whitney Springsteen Summer Song Challenge!

Simply leave your list, with the 10 song titles of the songs you believe are heard in the clip, in order in the Comments section of this blog entry  You must proved the full song titles of each of the songs.

The full 40 second clip is found below for you to listen to as many times as you like



The DJ Whitney Springsteen Summer Song Challenge will run for two week starting from today (July 17, 2011), ending on July 31, 2011.  DJ Whitney will provide the actual song titles in order for participants and listeners on her July 31, 2011 Springsteen Minute on that day's live DJ Joe D Show (10AM EDT).  The correct titles will also be posted on the DJ Joe D blog on July 31 as well.

We will update listeners next week, the end of week one of the Challenge, via the blog and the DJ Joe D Show, on the status of the Challenge to date

Two big releases today for Springsteen Fans (Nov.16, 2010)

DJ Whitney reminded me that today (Nov. 16) is a big big day for all Springsteen fans.

Earlier today, not one, but two new pieces of Springsteen material were released:

The Promise-The Lost Sessions:
A 2 CD-set that contains previously unreleased material from the album Darkness on the Edge of Town

The Promise-The Darkness on the Edge of Town Story
A special 3 DVD and 3 CD set which includes the documentary on the making of Darkness on the Edge of Town, which was premiered back in September in Toronto during the annual Toronto International Film Festival

And don't forget that tonight, Bruce Springsteen is a guest on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on NBC (12:35am Eastern)...he will talk about the new releases and perform in studio.
