More and more I get the feeling that there is way too many sources out there to get news stories from but not enough news stories to cover.
With news coming in literally 24/7 via TV, Radio, Internet, Mobile Devices, electronic signage, etc., the game for most sources is to try to a have a unique take on a big story, beat the hell out of a somewhat interesting but small story or come up with their own exclusives.
Well, every so often, I will bring to you a news story that appears to have only hit the wires because of the lack of something to report. We start off today with this story:
Mom booted off bus because of noisy toddler
An Australian woman and her 13-month-old baby were kicked off a public bus because the child was too loud.
A women told reporters she and her daughter were riding the bus home, and the child was making “happy squealing noises” because she was excited. A female bus driver told the woman to quiet her daughter down or they both would have to leave the bus.
The woman tried to quiet her toddler by playing with her and offering her up food
The bus driver was reportedly not convinced by the mother’s efforts and after repeated threats, kicked them off the bus just ahead of their stop
Now this is something many have of us have witnessed (or similar situations) where a mother tries to quiet down a fidgety child in public. But I don't believe this is a newsworthy story that needs to be reported internationally.
There is a lot going on in the world...I think a lot of these news sources need to get a better grasp on what they consider newsworthy! Next you might hear about your neighbour's visit to the dentist on the six o'clock news!
