Local Merchant of The Week

Glad to have Blogger back working again!

As a public service to all blog readers in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), from time to time I will let you know about local retailers you should visit in the area and give some business to!

This time around is a wonderful little shop on Leaside's "Bayview" strip, south of Eglinton in the city of Toronto:

Whatever Lola Wants

1625 Bayview Ave
Toronto, ON M4G 3B5
(647) 350-1833

Hours: Monday to Saturday 10 am to 6 pm, Sunday noon to 5 pm

As featured as NOW Magazine's "Store of the Week" October 2008:

Whatever Lola Wants (WLW)

“Welcome to Bayview” is a greeting Rhonda Fruitman has heard a lot since opening her accessories boutique on the close-knit north Toronto strip. The neighbourhood has instantly responded to her mix of jewellery, housewares and gifts, all proudly wearing made-in-Canada labels.

Everything in the store is 100% handcrafted in Canada by smaller, independent artists and labels. WLW is filled with gift ideas and covetable accessories that Rhonda personally handpicks for her store. Rhonda's determination and keen eye for interesting pieces and new artists is paying dividends.

Representing jewellery lines like the Worn Beadies collection of glass heart pendants.

Other items such as sterling silver and semi-precious stone pieces, hand-knit shawls and ponchos and leather bags, art prints, decor knick-knacks incorporating vintage farm equipment, soaps and a collection of greeting cards inspired by that cheeky British sense of humour all add to the store’s eclectic mix.

Check out Whatever Lola Wants when you are in the neighbourhood...tell Rhonda that DJ Joe D sent you!
